However, poor thermal stability of POM, weather is poor, long-term exposure to aging in the atmosphere.
The mechanical properties of POM is quite good, it has a high strength elastic modulus, low coefficient of friction, good wear resistance. POM is also highly resistant to creep and stress relaxation ability.
POM dimensional stability, water absorption is very small, so the water absorption of its mechanical properties can not be considered. POM has good dielectric properties over a wide frequency and temperature range, its dielectric constant and dielectric loss tangent value changed very little.
POM poor heat resistance, molding temperature in the pan easily degradable release formaldehyde, usually in the granulation are added stabilizer. If not force, POM can be at 140 ℃ under the short-term use, its long-term use temperature of 85 ℃.
POM poor weather, the atmospheric aging, the general performance has declined. But its chemical stability is excellent, especially for organic solvents, its size and mechanical properties change very little lower. But strong acids and strong oxidants such as nitric acid, sulfuric acid corrosion resistance is poor.
